When the paper has dried and is gessoes the artist applies a white joint compound mixture which when dried quickly will create a beautifully cracked surface. After darkening the cracks she covers the surface with encaustic wax (beeswax and dry pigment) which makes a smooth blended surface. Due to the nature of the work each piece is unique and will vary slightly. Each is wired and ready to
