Overall better than extremely fine condition
also embroidered maker's mark "Bevo-Wuppertal"
lined interior lid with a slotted medal bed to allow proper award seating
and it was but a remnant which held the western edges of the Copse
A Canada General Service Medal 1866-1870 To The Oshawa Rifle Company Newly Listed surrounded by the inscribed "KINGFENIAN RAID 1866 (Pte. Wm. Prout, Oshawa Rifle Co.). Naming is officially impressed. Replacement ribbon, light contact, better than very fine. Accompanied by a Studio Photograph of William Prout (black and white photo on the obverse, studio marked "J. E. HOITT'S Fine Art Gallery, KING STREET, (East) OSHAWA, C. W." on the reverse, card mounted, 62 mm x 100 mm). Footnote: William John Prout is shown on the roll of the 28 man Bowmanville Rifle Company
