Saxe-Ernestine, Duchy. A Saxe-Ernestine House Order, Grand Cross Star With Swords, C. 1870 Hold Two Pieces of War Wounded(Sachsen Ernestinischer Hausorden). Instituted on 25 December 1833. (2nd Model, issued 1864 1935). An eight rayed silver breast star; the vertical and horizontal arms are gilded while the diagonal arms are silver, riveted to the star is a white enameled eight pointed, four armed Maltese cross, bordered with wide, golden edges and tipped with golden finials, gilded swords cross between the arms, at the center is a large, round medallion, at the center
